Sara Rose Figueroa-MacRae

She/Her • Hi there! Sara here, a senior product designer at FLASH Parking currently focused on building out design systems to unite our (very) diverse suite of products. I love bringing order out of chaos, promoting accessible design, and working with people of all backgrounds; design systems are thus a natural passion! I’m currently based in the metro Detroit area with my husband and our flock of animals.

Before joining Flash, I spent 6 years at Powerley. There, I worked on nearly all parts of the core experience of an app + smart home hub which allowed utility companies to provide their customers an interface to view & manage home energy consumption. I saw our products through from initial launch to several iterations over the years and gathered a wealth of knowledge in the process. I’ve also spent some time at Benzinga working on early versions of their trading education and real-time financial news products, Marketfy and Benzinga Pro.

I’m passionate about (good) design because I see daily how it can contribute to a better life for my users, however significant the impact. Still, I’m not always staring at screens! When AFK, I enjoy illustration along with a variety of other creative outlets, and can most often be found makin’ stuff ranging from knit stuffed animals to delicious baked goods. Caring for my houseplants and garden is my happy place, and I love spending time outside with nature, rain or shine.
